Chapter - 1, Angels & Demons

 Summary

The story begins with a nightmare where Robert Langdon finds himself walking up the stairs of the Great Pyramid of Giza with a woman.  Then the woman disappeared, and a strange old man appeared, staring at Langdon.

He got up with a start, the phone was ringing. It was a man named Maximilian Köhler (a Discrete Particle physicist) who desperately wants to meet him. But he refused as it was 5:18 A.M.

Langdon himself, is a professor of religious iconology at Harvard University, having authored 3 books on symbology.  He has the body of a swimmer, and the physique of six feet. He is a strict teacher, but in reality he is of a friendly nature having campus nickname 'The Dolphin'.  His house resembled a museum as it was packed with religious artifacts.

As he finished the mug of Nestle - Quik, the fax machine rang.  When he saw the paper, his mouth groaned as it contained the image of a naked human corpse with a twisted head. There is a terrible burning on his chest, the word 'Illuminati' is inscribed on it.  He was completely stunned.  Surely he knew what all this meant.
